Our new camp phone number effective May 8, 2009 will be 1-647-478-2904 and we will have wireless internet that can be used right at your cabins. Please call this number when you are finished in Red Lake or Balmertown to let us know that you are on your way so that we may be promptly pick you up at the landing. Until that time you may still call our home number at
1-807-727-2028 for information.

You will have to get your licenses prior to coming to camp and new this year is that Non-Canadian residents need an Outdoors Card to fish in Ontario if they are 18 years of age and ver. The sportfishing licence tag (one year or eight day) or the conservation fishing licence tag (one year or eight day) accompanies the plastic Outdoors Card.

If you have never had an Outdoors Card, you can purchase a "Non-Canadian Resident Temporary Fishing Outdoors Card and Application" from one of more than 1,800 licence issuers across the province. The Non-Canadian Resident Temporary Fishing Outdoors Card and Application does not include the fishing licence tag. The fishing licence tag will be a separate paper permit.

The temporary Outdoors Card and paper licence are effective immediately. The plastic Outdoors Card will be mailed to you by year end, and is valid for three calendar years (including the year of purchase). Non-Canadian resident hunters can also fish under the authority of their Outdoor Card (fishing/hunting version) with the appropriate fishing licence tag.

We have been busy up at camp and when you get in you will notice the new bed frames and mattresses, sheets, pillows and blankets. Cabins 1, 2 and 3 will have insulation in the roof to cut down on heat loss in the spring and fall and keep them cooler in the summer. The former Friends and Family cabin is undergoing renovations to bring it up to another Deluxe cabin and will be rented out periodically this summer and ready to go full out next season.

Also new this summer, U.S. citizens must have a U.S. passport to re-enter the United States. Paperwork does take time so it you don’t already have one now may be the time to look into requirements. Children traveling with one parent, grandparents or other guardians should carry proof of custody or letters from the non-accompanying parent/s authorizing travel. (This is in addition to proof of the child's citizenship.) Any person under the age of 18 and traveling alone should carry a letter from his/her parent or guardian authorizing the trip. Travelers without such documentation may experience delays.

So far the US exchange is still good which means your American dollar will go farther in Canada and the price of gas is still lower that last year.

EJ and Lennon will be returning to work at the camp this summer along with a carpenter who we will keep extremely busy!

The airplane is getting a complete over haul from the bottom up – it should be ready some time in June. This is what it currently looks like, hard to believe isn’t it?

We still have several bear hunting openings available so if this something that you would be interested in please let us know. Also, fishing bookings are changing periodically so there may be spots available now that previously had been taken. Give us a call to see what would work for you.
